The Weaver Wander Charity Classic & Sports Car Event is scheduled to take place on Saturday 29th June 2013 starting at the Bentley Motors Legends Club in Crewe at 10am with the navigation run. This promises to be an exciting event with funds being raised for both the Stroke Association and the British Heart Foundation.
It is being arranged by the Rotary Club of Crewe and Nantwich Weaver and will involve a fleet of classic vehicles undertaking a 100-mile trip through parts of Shropshire, North Wales and Cheshire.
From the start, at the above club, the route will include Beam Street in Nantwich, Waterlode, Audlem Road and will also include a drive past Nantwich Lake. It will then be onward to Chirk Castle for a brief halt. There will be plenty of opportunity for those interested in classic cars and other classic vehicles to watch as the vehicles drive by in all their glory.
Back in Nantwich there will be other classic vehicles on display at the Weaver Stadium between the hours of 1pm to 5pm. These vehicles will be joined by those that had taken part in the 100 mile run at around 3 30pm.
At around 4 30 pm you can witness the presentation of three awards. The “Tub” Reynolds award is an award that is made in honour of Melvyn Reynolds deceased who was keen on cars and was a founding member of the Rotary Club. The award will be presented to the crew of the vehicle that is felt to best portray the event’s spirit. Another award will be to the car club that has most attendees and the third award will be for what the judges feel is the most interesting vehicle.
Apparently, the first three of these events in years gone by managed to raise in excess of £16,000 for charities. The event will also include free entertainment that many families cam enjoy as well as being able to admire the classic vehicles. In the past they have had entries from various parts of the United Kingdom.
So, if you have a classic car, motorcycle, bus, truck or van you are most welcome to join in the Weaver Stadium display.
