If you are a classic car enthusiast then you will no doubt be interested to hear about some of the classic vehicles that were sold at Bonhams The Bond Street Sale that took place on the 7th December 2019.

Those of you that are fans of the Aston Martin will be interested in the sale of a 1961 Aston Martin DB4GT “Lightweight” Sports Saloon. This particular beautiful sports car was sold for £2,367,000 including the premium. This is an extremely rare vehicle with only 45 right hand drive ones being built. It had been in the same ownership since 1965 that is unusual. Only 9 were built to lightweight specification. The lightweight ones have aluminum used in parts of the vehicle rather than the usual type of metal and the windscreen is in glass but the other windows were in Perspex although in this particular car the windows were all changed to glass when the car was returned to the factory for this alteration to be made.

A dark green 1994 Aston Martin Virage Volante 6.3 litre Convertible was sold for £235,750 including premium. This classic open topped sports car was once owned by HRH The Prince of Wales so this possibly had some impact upon the sale price achieved at auction. This classic vehicle has only got 34,849 miles on the clock. Prior to being sold at the above auction it had been in the same ownership since 2012. The powerful engine produced 456bhp taking the car from 0 to 60mph in a mere 5.5 seconds on to a top speed of 174 mph making this a particularly nippy vehicle.

A 1988 Aston Martin V8 Vantage X-Pack Sports Saloon was sold for £324,300 including premium. The 410bhp engine meant that this was an extremely powerful vehicle. In fact, in its time, it was the quickest accelerating production car in the world. The car was repainted in black.

A 1933 Rolls-Royce 20/25hp Foursome Drophead Coupe was sold for £83,500 including premium. This delightful looking restored vehicle has won a number of awards. Prior to being sold at the above auction it had been in the same ownership since December 2005.

A 1965 Jaguar Mark 11 3.8 litre “Coombs Evocation” Sports Saloon was sold for £51,750 including premium. This classic saloon car was restored in 2014 and has had around £30,000 spent on it in the last five years. Its engine produced 220bhp enabling it to achieve a top speed of 125mph.
