The Footman James Bristol Classic Car Show takes place next month at Shepton Mallet. This will be its 34th year making it the United Kingdom’s longest running independent event of its type.
There will no doubt be many thousands of classic car lovers attending the show at the Bath and West Show Ground. The event runs for two days on both the 20th and 21st April 2013.
This is no doubt going to be another huge classic car event with about 500 classic cars expected to be on show on the Saturday. Many more are expected to arrive for the Sunday as a number of classic car clubs will be finishing in the Drive It Day Rally.
One of the star attractions on the Rover P5 stand is expected to be the beautiful Panelcraft Rover 3 Lt Drophead conversion dating back to 1963. A keen Rover classic car enthusiast in Essex restored the vehicle before a sale of the car was arranged to a buyer in Australia. It came back to the UK last year having spent 20 years away.
The classic car show is being arranged by Nigel Stevens who is really looking forward to the event. He made the observation that this show is the largest one that they arrange so they are all keen to get as many special and unique classic cars from all over the UK to come along. Apparently, although they have a packed show already, they are still getting classic car clubs phoning every day wishing to attend. It is hoped that they are going to run a driving auto test which they have never done before at this event but details have yet to be fine tuned.
Tickets are only £11 to attend what is renowned as one of the friendliest and largest shows of its kind.
