Classic car enthusiasts will be interested to read that at the Historics Auctioneers auction of classic cars that took place on 15th May 2021 at Ascot Racecourse, a number of cars were sold for a price exceeding the guide price. We mention below some of those that did this but full details can be found on the auctioneer’s website. Is this an indication that a classic car is still considered to be a potentially good form of investment?
A right-hand drive 2 + 2 1970 Alfa Romeo 1750 GT Veloce that had an estimated price of £25.000 to £30,000 was sold for well over this figure. It was sold for £40,752 and is said to be in very good condition. It has 30,601 miles on the clock with that being a very low mileage for a vehicle of this age. The bodywork is in Biancospino and it has a black interior.
A 1961 Jaguar Mk 11 (2.4 Litre) four-door saloon making an ideal classic car for the family that had an estimated price of £13,000 to £17,000 was sold for £17,920. The bodywork is in British Racing Green, it has a green leather interior and a wooden dashboard. It is said to be in very good order.

A 1958 Jaguar XK150 SE Roadster had an estimated price of £65,000 to £80,000 but was sold for well over this at £92,960. It has been fully restored with between £50,000 and £70,000 said to have been spent on it and its bodywork is in British Racing Green. It has a green leather interior, 3.4 litre engine and a 5-speed gearbox.
A red 1973 Lancia Fulvia HF (1.6 Litre) that had an estimated price of £39,000 to £45,000 was sold for £49,808. It has 62,251 miles on the clock. It has been fully restored at a cost of what was said to be over £60,000.
