There will be a number of classic touring cars on the track at the Historic Superprix event when it takes place at Brands Hatch on the 13th and 14th July. There will also be a few well-known drivers to watch use their considerable skills to power the vehicles around this exciting track.
You can expect to witness a few old rivalries coming to a head once again. There will be a number of events that will include the Derek Bell Trophy that will feature a few powerful single seaters including Formula 5000 and Formula 2 cars, the Supertouring Trophy will bring back to the forefront the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC).
This really does promise to be a very special weekend for all you classic racing car enthusiasts.
Well known drivers will include champions John Cleland and Tim Harvey who will be racing along with Patrick Watts. Tim Harvey will be driving a 1980s Ford Sierra RS500 that is extremely powerful. There will be a number of other turbo-charged cars from the 1980s as well as the 1990s. For instance, John Cleland will be driving a Vauxhall Vectra from the 1990s and Patrick Watts, who is a regular attendee at these sorts of events, a Peugeot 406.
There will be people that will think the drivers will be driving rather carefully around the track but you can be certain that once the race starts they will all be competing to win.
There will also be cars racing from the 1960s such as Hillman Imps, Minis, Cortina’s, Falcons, Mustangs and Ford Galaxies. You will also be able to see MGs, McLaren, Lola, Lotuses, E-Types and Cobras.
You will be pleased to hear that tickets are priced from £18 but children 12 and below will get in free. Get along to Brands Hatch and enjoy the weekend.
