There will be many of you who are classic car owners who will remember the years when Sean Connery played the role of 007 in a number of James Bond films. Of course the car that he drove in the films was an Aston Martin. Well, you may be interested to read that a classic car once owned by Sir Sean Connery has recently sold for shall we say a modest price considering the connection. He bought the vehicle in 1983.

The Mercedes-Benz 300Sd was bought by the well-known actor in the USA. He had the car for around 10 years driving it in more than one country. He gave the classic car to his brother and it was subsequently sold.

It has recently been sold on eBay for £7,077.77. When you look at some of the photos of this white Mercedes-Benz you can see that it would appear to be in need of, shall we say, some tender loving care from someone who has the time and money available to try to restore it to its former glory.

Regrettably for James Bond fans, it doesn’t have any of the gadgets that one or more of the Aston Martin had in the James Bond films such as an ejector seat, machine guns and smoke deterrents.

Sean Connery was to appear in 6 James Bond films over a number of years. You will remember seeing him driving around in an Aston Martin that quickly became synopsis with the James Bond movies that have been watched by many millions of cinema goers and TV fans over an extended period of time.

Presumably, the price the classic car fetched was due to the fact that it was once owned by Sir Sean Connery. Had it not been in the possession of someone famous it is unlikely to have been sold for as much as it has taking into account the poor condition the vehicle is in.
