If you are interested in classic cars then you will no doubt be aware that many Jaguar E-Types are sought after classic vehicles. It has to be said that there is something special about being at the wheel of such a sleek looking sports car that has a wonderful history.
The Jaguar E-Type was manufactured in the UK between 1961 and 1975. It was capable of getting to speeds of around 150mph and, from a standing start, it could reach 60mph in under 7 seconds so it was certainly a powerful sports car. It was built in both hard top and soft top so no doubt appealed to a wide, captive audience of sports car enthusiasts. The E-Type also appeared in a number of motorsport events.
Anyway, you may be interested to read that a classic Jaguar E-Type has recently been sold at auction for way above the price it was expected to achieve. This particular vehicle was actually a barn find that is a rare occurrence.
The Jaguar E-Type S111 V12 Roadster built in 1972 came up for auction on the 24th September 2016 at the Classic Car Auction event that took place at Warwickshire Exhibition Centre close to Leamington Spa. Apparently, the vehicle had been in the same family for 40 years and was found in a barn. It ended up being sold for £61,050 with this being in excess of £20,000 above the maximum estimated price it was expected to sell for. Perhaps this just shows how much interest there is in the Jaguar E-Type.
There was obviously a great deal of interest in many of the classic cars that came up for auction at the above event as there were in excess of 500 bidders that were registered and 70% of the classic vehicles that were available to buy were actually sold for a total of £1.4 million. Another classic car auction is scheduled for the 3rd December 2016 at the same venue.
