The cost of keeping a classic car road worthy can prove quite expensive due to such things as repair costs and servicing. So, owners will be pleased to hear that, according to the Confused.com Car Insurance Price Index, the average amount paid by motorists for fully comprehensive car insurance has dropped slightly in the first quarter of 2019 when compared with the last quarter of 2018.
The average amount paid for such cover in the first quarter of 2019 was £762 per annum whereas in the last quarter of 2018 the figure was £774 per annum. This is a small fall of £12 per annum but, nevertheless, it is a reduction so premiums have headed in the right direction – downwards.
It would be lovely if the above reduction in the cost of premiums was also reflected in the cost of classic car insurance as anything that can be done to lower the cost of running a classic car has got to be welcomed.
