Did you know that you don’t have to have a deep pocket containing huge amounts of money to buy a classic car? If you look around it is quite possible to purchase a classic car for under £5,000. Yes, like most things in life, it has to be said that you get what you pay for it. So, if you are spending that sort of money then it may be that you need to do a bit of work on the vehicle before you can take it for a spin on a lovely, warm autumn afternoon.
Mathewsons is to hold its October Classic Vehicles & Memorabilia Auction on the 13th and 14th October 2023. If you look on its website you will find a number of classic vehicles that have an estimated sale price of under £5,000 some of which we mention below: –
If you are a fan of Jaguars then why not take a look at a 1968 Jaguar 3.4/340 that has an estimated sale price of between £2,500 to £3,500. It is a saloon with a 3,442cc engine. Its bodywork is in grey and it has a red leather interior.
A little different is a 1963 Range Rover Land Rover. It has a 2,286cc engine and, as you can see from the images on the auctioneer’s website, it appears to be in need of some tender loving care. It also has an estimated sale price of between £2,500 to £3,500.
There are a large number of fans of the MINI in the UK. So, if you are one of them, why not peruse a 1988 Austin MINI Mayfair that has an estimated sale price of between £3,600 to £4,000. It has a silver coloured bodywork, a 4 speed manual gearbox and is powered by a 998cc engine.
What about a 1958 Wolseley 1500 4 door saloon classic car that has maroon coachwork. It has a 1,489cc engine. It has a nice sized boot and the spare tyre is carefully tucked away in its own compartment. It has an estimated sale price of between £3,600 to £4,000.
Those of you who like sports cars may wish to cast your eyes over a 1986 Porsche 924. It has an estimated sale price of between £3,500 to £4,500. It has a 2,479cc engine, a 5 speed manual gearbox and the MOT runs until the 20th October 2023.
